Fisherman who died after falling from boat named

A 45-year-old who died after falling from a fishing boat off the Aberdeenshire coast has been named.

John McTaggart, from Lossiemouth, fell overboard from the vessel Acorn about four miles off Stonehaven in the early hours of Tuesday.

He was recovered from the water and pronounced dead. Inquiries are under way into the full circumstances, but it is not thought suspicious.

Police expressed sympathy to relatives.
