Emergency call service restored in Inverurie

A problem affecting 999 services in Aberdeenshire has now been resolved.

Police earlier urged people living in the Inverurie area not to make non-emergency calls, in order to keep the lines free.

Extra police patrols were organised and emergency service vehicles deployed for locals to contact in case emergency lines were not working.

BT later advised Police Scotland that the problem had been fixed.

A similar outage which affected parts of Angus and Tayside on Tuesday morning.
