Woman dies in fire at farmhouse in Peterculter
A woman has died in a fire at a farmhouse in an Aberdeen suburb.
Emergency services were called to the blaze in Anguston Road, Peterculter, at about 15:15 on Thursday.
Police said that despite the efforts of fire crews the woman died at the scene. A man who had to be helped from the property suffered what were described as minor injuries.
A joint investigation is being carried out by Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Bruce Farquharson, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service's local senior officer for Aberdeen, said: "Operations control mobilised four fire engines, where firefighters were met by a fire within a one storey building.
"Crews extinguished the fire, but sadly a female was found to have passed away at the scene.
"Our thoughts are with all of those who are affected at this time."
