Man charged over Aberdeen city centre 'assault'

A man has been charged after another man was found seriously injured in Aberdeen city centre.

Police were called to reports of an assault in the King Street area, near the junction with St Clair Street, at about 17:45 on Sunday.

A man, 29, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. His injuries were said to be serious but not life-threatening.

The 36-year-old man charged was expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

Police Scotland said the incident was contained and there was no threat to the wider public.
