Kenneth Hall named as man, 88, who died in Lossiemouth fire

An 88-year-old man who died following a fire at a house in Lossiemouth has been named.

Police and firefighters were called to the fire, in Elgin Road at its junction with Inchbroom Road, at about 16:10 on Wednesday.

The body of Kenneth Hall was found inside. No-one else was injured.

Det Insp Norman Stevenson, of Police Scotland, said: "My thoughts are obviously with Mr Hall's family at this very sad and difficult time."

He added: "Inquiries are continuing into the circumstances leading up to the incident, including a joint investigation involving police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

"However, early indications would suggest that there are no suspicious circumstances.

"I would like to thank the local community for their patience while emergency services attended this tragic incident."
