Courier caught with more than £150,000 of cocaine

A drug courier was caught with cocaine worth more than £150,000 when he was stopped on the A90, a court has heard.

Liyapa Sikazwe, 20, of Aberdeen, was a passenger in a car intercepted by officers after a surveillance operation.

He admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine on 29 January this year on the road near Stonehaven and elsewhere.

Sentence at the High Court in Edinburgh was deferred.

Defence counsel Gareth Jones said: "Given the quantity and classification of drugs he is realistic about the sentence he will ultimately receive."

Lord Kinclaven remanded Sikazwe in custody.
