Four men who carried out an armed robbery at an Aberdeen shop are being sought by police.

The incident - understood to involve an axe and other bladed weapons - happened at the Stocket Parade Stores at about 19:50 on Tuesday.

Staff were threatened and the men then escaped with money and goods.

A stolen grey Hyundai i30, registration MW60 FPE, was discovered on fire on Barvas Walk. Police are investigating if it is linked to the robbery.

All the men were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered.

Police said they were keeping an "open mind" over whether the armed robbery was connected to an attempted armed robbery from Gaitside Stores in Gaitside Drive earlier that evening.

Two men threatened staff with weapons before running from the shop.
