Man jailed for Aberdeenshire child sex offences

A man who sexually abused children in the 1990s has been jailed for six years.

James Stewart, 61, of Portlethen, was found guilty of offences in Aberdeen and Kemnay. One victim was abused from the age of 11.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, defence counsel Mark Stewart QC said Stewart maintained his innocence.

Judge Lord Beckett told him his conduct had a "serious and lasting effect" on his victims.
