Thousands stolen in Aberdeen Coral bookmakers armed robbery

Thousands of pounds have been stolen in an armed robbery at an Aberdeen bookmakers.

Two men went into the Coral premises at the Cornhill shopping arcade on Foresterhill Road at about 21:40 on Thursday with a weapon.

They escaped with a "low four-figure" sum after demanding money.

Both men were said to be in their 20s, one was stocky, the other slim, and both were wearing dark jackets. Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses.

Det Sgt Mike Reynolds said: "Although no-one was injured in this incident, this was a frightening experience for staff involved."
