A new trial bus service for an Aberdeenshire village has been welcomed on safety grounds.

Residents of Muchalls, which is just off the busy A90 south of Aberdeen, say they have been campaigning for decades for better links.

Aberdeenshire Council is launching a twice-daily shuttle bus three times a week from Tuesday to take villagers to a nearby park and ride.

Residents say it is a safer way to get to another bus going north or south.
