Two men in court after Aberdeen car park attack

Scene of incident

Two men have appeared in court after a man was attacked outside a supermarket in Aberdeen.

Police cordoned off part of an Aldi car park in the Cornhill area of the city on Tuesday night after what they called a "targeted attack".

Paul Douglas and Jay Longmuir, both 23, appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.

They are accused of having a gun or imitation firearm in public as well charges relating to offensive weapons.

The men are also accused of drug possession and being concerned in the supply of drugs.

Mr Douglas, from Dundee, and Mr Longmuir, from Kirriemuir, both made no plea or declaration and were released on bail.

The injured man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following Tuesday's incident, although it is understood he did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
