Vandals disrupt Allan Park restoration in Aberdeen

Damage at park

Volunteers working to restore an Aberdeen park to its former glory have suffered a setback after vandals struck.

Allan Park sits between the old Deeside Railway line walkway and the River Dee in the Cults area.

Described as a hidden gem, volunteers have been trying to improve it.

However, on top of flooding problems at the gardens, vandals have set fire to and destroyed a picnic table, which also scorched nearby trees and bushes.

The Friends of Allan Park group said it was a "damaging" setback.
