Man who died in Glassel motorbike crash named

A man who was killed after his motorbike was in collision with a van has been named by police.

Kevin Yule, 43, from the Alford area of Aberdeenshire, died in the accident which resulted in both vehicles bursting into flames.

The crash happened on the A980 Banchory to Torphins road, near Glassel, at about 14:45 on 20 September.

Insp Jon Barron, of Police Scotland, asked anyone with information about the crash to contact police.

"Our thoughts are with Kevin's family and friends and all those directly affected by this devastating and tragic incident," he said.

"Our inquiries are still continuing into the circumstances. I would urge anyone who hasn't spoken to us as yet but who might have any information, to contact us as soon as possible."
