Aberdeen beach device 'not explosive'

A device which forced the closure of a stretch of Aberdeen beach was not explosive.

An area between the beach ballroom and Bridge of Don was closed after a member of the public raised the alarm.

A bomb squad team was sent to the scene and the device was found not to be a risk to the public.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Members of the public are thanked for their patience."
