Appeal over two burned-out lorries found near Huntly
Police have appealed for witnesses after two lorries were found on fire.
The emergency services were alerted to the two vehicles being ablaze at a layby on the A97 south of Huntly at about 05:00.
Two lorries - believed to have contained furniture and alcohol - had been stolen from the West Tullos industrial estate in Aberdeen through the night.
Police Scotland said the incidents were being linked.
Det Sgt Scott Gillespie said: "I would appeal for anyone who saw two HGVs in the north east between midnight and 5am this morning to contact police as a matter of urgency as we trace their movements."
