Appeal following serious car crash on A97

Police have appealed for witnesses after a serious crash in Aberdeenshire.

The one-vehicle accident, involving a white Peugeot 205, happened on the A97 between Huntly and Banff at Bridge of Marnoch at about 18:05 on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old male driver was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

Police Scotland, appealing for witnesses, said the road was closed for about eight hours while a collision investigation took place.
