Driver causes more than £10,000 of damage at Aberdeen golf course

More than £10,000 of damage was caused when a vehicle was driven over an Aberdeen golf course.

The incident at Auchmill Golf Course in Bonnyview Road happened between 15:00 on Wednesday and 06:00 on Thursday.

Turf was ripped up and the cost of repairs has been estimated at a five-figure sum.

Police said the "mindless act" caused extensive damage and cost, and "immeasurable distress to the owner".

Insp Andy Barclay added: "In addition, it will have a significant impact on local residents and visitors to the area who make good use of the course.

"I would appeal for anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious between the hours of 3pm on Wednesday and 6am on Thursday, or anyone who has information, to contact police as a matter of urgency."
