Two major pieces of infrastructure damaged in the recent floods are expected to reopen within the next week, Aberdeenshire Council has said.

Part of the A93 near Crathie was washed away by the flood waters, and the Invercauld Bridge at Braemar was also damaged.

The local authority said a temporary road surface would open to traffic on Saturday, with a 20mph speed limit.

Meanwhile, cars should be able to access the bridge some time next week.

The floods caused serious damage in several areas across the north east of Scotland.
