A secondary school which was damaged by a deliberate fire is to be reopened on Tuesday.

Harlaw Academy was closed on Monday after an incident at the weekend.

Fire crews were called to the school on Albyn Place at about 01:30 on Saturday after a member of the public spotted smoke and heard the school's alarm.

Aberdeen City Council said part of the school, including the library, was significantly damaged by the fire.

It will be sealed off to pupils as cleaning and repair work continues.

The school's annual concert and talent show have been cancelled as a result.

No-one was hurt by the blaze.
