Katherine Jenkins to sing in Aberdeen for Cornerstone

Renowned classical singer Katherine Jenkins OBE is to perform in Aberdeen in aid of the charity Cornerstone.

The Welsh star will sing at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday 20 February at the concert organised by the Lord Provost's Charitable Trust,

She will be supported by the Aberdeen-based chamber choir Con Anima.

Lord Provost George Adam said: "We are absolutely thrilled Katherine Jenkins has agreed to perform in Aberdeen for the Lord Provost's Charitable Trust."

He added: "With the superb backing of Aberdeen choir Con Anima this will be a fantastic night for music fans, and we expect the tickets to sell very quickly."

Edel Harris, chief executive of Cornerstone, said: "Katherine is a hugely popular and high-profile recording artist and I am positive the evening will be a huge success.

"The money raised on the night will help Cornerstone provide specialist support and services to adults, young people and children in the North-east who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and other complex needs."
