Two fishermen have been rescued by Peterhead lifeboat after their vessel broke down and sank.

The men climbed on to rocks at the foot of Slains Castle near Cruden Bay as the alarm was raised on Wednesday morning.

They were safely picked up and taken on to The Misses Robertson of Kintail lifeboat.

The men were then taken to Cruden Bay harbour, suffering from what was described as "mild hypothermia and some scratches".
