Police searching for a man missing in Aberdeenshire for 11 days have issued a fresh appeal for people to check their sheds and outbuildings.

Shaun Ritchie was last seen with friends at a remote woodland area near Strichen on the night of Friday 31 October into the Saturday morning.

Some of his clothing has since been found.

Police Scotland said more than 200 specialist search trained officers and 27 dogs have been involved.

Insp Alan Brown said: "We have carried out extensive searches, and we are becoming increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.

"It is possible that he tried to seek shelter."

Relatives earlier said the disappearance was a "nightmare".

Mr Ritchie was wearing grey jeans, a white t-shirt and a grey hooded top when he was last seen.
