Plans to close up to 11 Moray schools
Up to 10 primary schools in Moray could close as part of a major shake-up of education provision across the region.
An independent review for Moray Council is also recommending a reorganisation of the area's secondary schools which would see the closure of Milne's High in Fochabers.
Parents say the plan to close the high school is nonsensical.
The council has pledged to spend £70m in bringing the area's school buildings up to an acceptable standard.
The review is recommending the realignment of catchment areas and the closure or replacement of old primaries with plans to merge others.
A new coastal primary would be built in Buckie to replace a number of small schools there.
Forres would lose a primary, and a new school in the south west of the town would result in the closure of Dallas and Logie primaries.
If the closure of Milne's High goes ahead pupils would transfer to Elgin or Keith.
Parents have warned that the advantages of a small community high school far outweigh the limited curricular benefits reorganisation would bring.
