One of north east Scotland's longest running cultural festivals has appointed its new chairperson.
Councillor Jennifer Stewart ended her involvement with the Aberdeen International Youth Festival (AIYF) earlier this month.
She described "severe concerns" about the running costs of the festival.
Councillor Len Ironside will now take over the role, following a meeting of the trustees.
Now in its 42nd year, the AIYF attracts thousands of young people from all over the world.
