A company has been charged following an explosion at an Aberdeenshire hotel in 2009, the BBC Scotland news website has learned.

The explosion at the Drumtochty Arms in Auchenblae left three people injured.

Instant Catering Maintenance Ltd is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday. The company faces allegations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

The hotel was demolished after the explosion.
