Street robbery suspect almost hit by car in Aberdeen

A woman who robbed a pensioner in an Aberdeen street was nearly hit by a car as she fled, according to police.

The incident happened in Ashgrove Road at 17:55 on Wednesday. The suspect then ran to Powis Terrace and into the path of a white Audi.

She is described as white, in her late 20s, of slim build, with blonde hair.

The 65-year-old victim, who was robbed of her handbag containing a two figure sum of money, was uninjured but left extremely shaken.

Det Con Jones-Goldie said the attack took place at rush hour in a usually busy street.

The officer added: "I would urge anyone who saw any part of this incident or would have knowledge of the person responsible to contact Police Scotland.

"In particular, I would be keen to trace the driver of a white Audi which the suspect would have run in front of on Powis Terrace."
