Car driver dies after collision with stationary A90 lorry

A female car driver has died following a collision with a stationary articulated lorry on the A90 between Aberdeen and Dundee.

Emergency services were called to the scene, south of Stracathro, just after 05:00.

The woman, believed to be in her early 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound carriageway reopened at lunchtime after being closed for several hours. Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
