Driver caught doing 94mph in Aberdeen police crackdown
A man has been caught speeding at 94mph in a 50mph area during a police crackdown on driving offences.
The 20-year-old has been reported to the procurator fiscal for dangerous driving, police said.
He was caught on the A944 between Kingswells and Westhill near Smiddy Brae in Aberdeen at the weekend.
The operation, aimed at targeting dangerous driving, resulted in 12 motorists being reported for a range of offences.
These included failing to wear a seatbelt, parking on zig-zag lines, speeding and using a mobile phone while driving.
Community police officers targeted areas including the A944, Milltimber Brae, Malcolm Road, the Lang Stracht, the junction of Hazledene Road and Queens Road and Contlaw Road/Culter House Road.
Sgt David Cowie, who led the operation, said: "We will continue to run operations with the help and support of residents and to reassure the public that we will be cracking down on people driving in this way.
"Those who drive irresponsibly cause a nuisance and more importantly also pose a risk to members of the public. By working with the community we can target areas which are most at risk."
