A 38-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with a flat fire which caused problems in Aberdeen city centre.

The fire forced Market Street, off the city's main Union Street, to be closed on 23 March.

Steven Ross, of Aberdeen, was charged with culpable and reckless conduct when he appeared at the city's sheriff court.

Mr Ross made no plea or declaration and was released on bail.

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service had three units, a height vehicle and crews in breathing apparatus tackling the blaze.
