Moray's smallest school at Cabrach set to close

A tiny primary school in Moray which has just two pupils left has been approved for closure.

Cabrach Primary had been the subject of protests by parents from a nearby school who wanted it to close to save money.

There will now be a three-week period during which the decision can be called in by Scottish ministers.

The remaining youngsters would then be transferred to Mortlach Primary School at Dufftown, from February.

Cabrach Primary costs the council £100,000 a year.

Moray Council had planned to close the school in 2008, however the proposal was rejected by the Scottish government.
