Appeal after Morayshire pensioner hit by car

A 76-year-old man suffered head and chest injuries after being knocked down in Morayshire.

The man was hit by a black Land Rover Discovery on Reidhaven Square, near to a convenience store, in the village of Keith.

Grampian Police said the pensioner was taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin following the incident at about 1050 GMT on Saturday.

They are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sgt Chris Whelan said: "At the time of the incident, a bus was stationary in the area and it is my understanding that occupants of this bus may have seen what happened.

"I would appeal to anyone on this bus or indeed anyone in the area who witnessed the collision to contact the police."
