North east councils discussing job losses plan

Proposals to save £51m over the next two years will be discussed at a full meeting of Aberdeenshire Council next week.

Members have been told that would be the equivalent of 900 full-time jobs over the same period.

Aberdeen City Council has also indicated a reduction of 900 employees as it looks to make savings.

Consultations have started between the local authority and trade union representatives.
