'Leads' in Aberdeenshire suspicious death probe

Police investigating the suspicious death of a man in Aberdeenshire have confirmed they are following several lines of inquiry.

James Bruce, 40, who lived in the Peterhead area, died on Sunday evening shortly after being admitted to hospital in the town.

Grampian Police said Mr Bruce died following an incident in the Claymore Crescent area of nearby Boddam.

A team of about 50 officers is now investigating his death.

Det Ch Insp Malcolm Stewart said: "Inquiries are at an early stage and we are following several lines of inquiry.

"We have a large team dedicated to the investigation and we'd like to reassure members of the public that this appears to be an isolated incident.

"We'd also like to thank the people of Boddam for their patience as we carry out our inquiries in the area."

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Claymore Crescent area shortly after 1700 GMT on Sunday.
