Man in court over serious Aberdeen attack

A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with assault to severe injury after a man was badly injured in Aberdeen.

Lee Weir, of Potterton, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he made no plea and was released on bail.

Police said the incident had happened at about 0100 BST on Friday in the city's Bath Street.

A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries.
