Appeal after man's body found by the River Deveron

Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the banks of a river in Banff.

A member of the public discovered the body on the south bank of the River Deveron near the Macduff Distillery, on Wednesday.

A Grampian Police spokesman said it was believed to be that of 62-year-old Norman Choate from the Banff area.

Officers are keen to piece together his final movements and have asked anyone with information to contact them.
