Man suffers 'life-threatening' injuries in attack
A man suffered life-threatening injuries in an attack in Aberdeen, police have said.
The 24-year-old victim of the assault, which happened at about 0100 BST, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Bath Street and Windmill Brae were cordoned off to allow forensic investigations but later re-opened.
Grampian Police are trying to trace two men, believed to be in their early 20s, who were in the area at the time.
Det Insp Norman Stevenson, leading the investigation, said: "We are aware that there would have been a number of late night revellers in this busy city centre area this morning who may have witnessed something or have information regarding this incident.
"I am particularly keen to trace two males who I believe were in the area at the time and who were last seen walking on Bath Street in the direction of Bridge Street.
"The males are both believed to be in the early 20s, with one described as having short brown hair and wearing a light-coloured shirt and jeans."
