Infection control improvements made at Raigmore Hospital

Improvements have been made to infection control in the theatre department at the biggest hospital in the Highlands.

The Healthcare Environment Inspectorate (HEI) asked the department at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to meet four requirements it set in May 2016.

These included improvements in the management of bed linen and surgical equipment.

A follow up inspection by HEI has found that the requirements have been met.

However, it has set two new requirements related to meeting data compliance.

Raigmore has 11 operating theatres.
