Use of Taser on man in Glen Shiel to be investigated

The use of a Taser by a police officer on a 47-year-old man in Glen Shiel in the north west Highlands is to be investigated by a watchdog.

The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) said the incident happened on 1 September.

It said Police Scotland had referred the matter to PIRC for investigation.

The watchdog added: "A report on the PIRC's findings will be submitted to the deputy chief constable in due course."
