New equipment has been installed in Inverness city centre to improve monitoring for air pollution.

The city's Queensgate and surrounding streets were designated as an Air Quality Management Area four years ago.

Highland Council officers and officials were concerned at the time that the air quality in the area was poor.

The new kit has been installed in Queensgate and monitors for the pollutant nitrogen dioxide.
