Man dies in accident at Invergordon Harbour
A man has died in an accident at Invergordon Harbour.
The incident was understood to have happened at about 08:45 at a pier at the harbour's service base where a ship had recently berthed.
Police Scotland said an investigation was under way and the man's next of kin were being informed.
A Health and Safety Executive spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the incident and are liaising with Police Scotland."
The accident was believed to have involved a forklift truck.
Police have described the incident as an "industrial accident".
In a statement, Police Scotland said: "Sadly, one man has died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
"A full investigation has been launched as a result of the incident and partner agencies are working closely to assist the police in their inquiry."
