Highland Council staff considering voluntary redundancy
More than 200 Highland Council employees have said they would consider the local authority's offer of a voluntary redundancy package.
Among those who have come forward are 12 senior managers.
Almost all of the council's staff have been asked if they want to take voluntary redundancy or work less hours to help the authority save money.
Budget spokesman Bill Fernie said the council could have up to 500 workers accepting packages.
Highland Council has estimated that it will have £36.5m less to spend next year, forcing it to find significant savings.
