A craft beer festival held for the first time in Inverness in the summer is to be held again next year.

North Hop was described by its organisers as the city's first large-scale craft beer event.

More than 800 people and over 20 exhibitors from across Scotland, including Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, attended the festival at Eden Court.

August's event featured craft beers, artisan gins, cocktails and about 30 live music acts.

Next year's will tie in with 2015's Year of Food and Drink.

North Hop organiser Michelle Russell said: "People from around the world attended North Hop 2014, and I have received really positive feedback from both exhibitors and festival goers.

"A number of people who exhibited at this year's event have already confirmed they will be returning, along with some exciting new exhibitors."

She added: "We hope to make North Hop 2015 bigger and better, significantly increasing the amount of craft beers on offer, and increasing the number and range of street food vendors at the festival too."
