Cyclist killed in lorry collision in Sutherland
A woman cyclist has been killed in a collision with an articulated lorry in Sutherland.
The accident happened at about 15:15 on Saturday on a stretch of the A836 at Bettyhill.
Police Scotland said the woman suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Next of kin have been informed.
Anyone with information about the accident should contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
Emergency services were also attending two other serious road accidents in the Highlands and Islands.
The A95 was closed between Grantown on Spey and Dulnain Bridge.
On South Uist the road was closed at the junction of the A865 and B888.
Police warned that the roads were likely to remain closed for some time at the scenes of both accidents.
