A man from Edinburgh has died after falling 1,000ft (304m) in Highlands on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Leaf, 55, is thought to have slipped and fallen from a ridge called The Prow on Ben Alder, one of Scotland's most remote Munros.

Members of the group he was with raised the alarm. Mr Leaf was airlifted from the mountain by a Royal Navy search and rescue helicopter.

Mr Leaf, a fund manager, is survived by a wife and son.
