Police in the Highlands investigating the disappearance of a missing journalist have recovered a body.

Clive Dennier, 50, failed to turn up for work at the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald in March.

Police said a man's body had been found, after a call from a member of the public, in the Kinloch Hourn area on the Knoydart Peninsula on Friday.

Mr Dennier's family has been informed and arrangements were being made for formal identification.

Coastguard and RAF and mountain rescue teams had been involved in the initial search for Mr Dennier.

He had spoken of going hill walking prior to his disappearance.

His Volkswagen Polo was found west of Invergarry four days after he had been reported missing.
