Scottish folk band Capercaillie, Roddy Hart & the Lonesome Fire and Celtic rock outfit Skerryvore are among the acts announced to play this year's Tiree Music Festival.

The event, which takes place on the Hebridean island on 20 and 21 July, was previously named "Scotland's best small festival".

This year there is increased capacity and a new family campsite.

Revellers are also encouraged to take advantage of Tiree's famous beaches.

The Tiree Music Festival was named Best Small Festival by Event Scotland in 2012.

'Stunning location'

As well as enjoying the music acts playing over the two days, festival goers will be able to take part in activities at the specially created Community Village which will host music workshops and locally sourced festival food and trade stalls.

Organisers are hoping those attending will also enjoy the world famous surf at Balevullin beach, and try the other watersports, biking and galleries the island has to offer.

Artistic director Daniel Gillespie said: "TMF 2013 will be our biggest festival to date and will once again showcase Tiree as one of the most stunning locations in the world."
