Searches were made for Mr Dawson in November last year
A body has been found in the River Beauly close to the spot where a local wildlife photographer went missing four months ago.
Gordon Dawson, 61, from Teannassie in Beauly, disappeared after going out to take photographs.
It is understood that a body was recovered earlier this week and has still to be formally identified.
Mr Dawson was last seen at his home in late November. Police and the Red Cross were involved in a search operation.
Photography equipment thought to belong him was found at nearby Aigas Dam during the searches.
