Fire units in Knoydart and Eigg could be wound up
Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service is planning to shut down community response units in Knoydart and on Eigg.
The plans will be considered by the fire board at a meeting in Inverness on Friday.
Senior officers said there were very low levels of activity and risk in the two areas.
They also said the units were unsustainable due to a lack of suitable personnel.
It would cost HIFRS £420,000 to bring the units up to standard.
Officers have proposed putting in place local fire prevention measures and protection action plans to reduce risk and increase community safety.
Last year, HIFRS agreed to axe community response units in Boat of Garten and Sleat on Skye, as well as several others in the Northern Isles, because they were considered unsustainable.
