Borders, Highland and Moray secure flood project funds

Borders, Highland and Moray councils are to get up to 80% of the cost of planned flood prevention projects paid by the Scottish government.

Moray's River Findhorn and Pilmuir flood prevention schemes at Forres will cost an estimated £44m.

A £22m project is planned for the River Ness in Inverness and a £3.6m at Galashiels.

Environment Minister Stewart Stevenson said confirmation of the funding would reassure residents of the areas.
