Paisley man in court on explosives charge

A man has appeared in court in connection with an explosives incident in Paisley.

A bomb disposal team carried out a controlled explosion at about 06:30 on Saturday. Part of Well street had been closed overnight.

Allan Hamilton, 35, from Paisley faced a single charge under the Explosive Substances Act 1883 when he appeared at the town's sheriff court.

He made no plea and Sheriff James Spy released him on bail.
